Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, four weeks before Christmas, which makes it the natural moment to get most of the gift list done. But the sales are full of “deals” on things nobody needs. This page is the opposite: the specific Christmas gifts we’d actually buy that weekend, the partner offers that are confirmed so far, and a short guide to telling a real discount from a dressed-up one.
Confirmed so far: Cold Case murder mysteries
Cold Case Inc’s Black Friday offer, at the time of writing: every case £4.99 from 27 to 30 November, about half the usual £9.99. Their cases are fictional, UK-made murder mysteries played in a browser, solo, as a couple on two devices, or as a group round one screen.
The Stonewood Mystery at the Black Friday price
Their easy starter case, set in an English village, and the one to buy for anyone who’s never tried an online murder mystery. At £4.99 over the Black Friday weekend it’s a stocking filler; at full price it’s about £9.99.
Love, Aisle and Murder for a couple’s Christmas night
Cold Case’s newest case is a murder at a wedding, and works well for two people playing side by side on separate devices. Buy it on the weekend of 27 to 30 November and tuck it away for the quiet days after Christmas.
A pile of £4.99 cases for the whole family
With 11 standalone cases, the Black Friday price is a chance to buy several for different people, or different evenings. Outside those dates, their 3-for-2 code CASE3FOR2 was running at the time of writing. If you want to give a case as a dated surprise, check at checkout whether the offer covers gift vouchers.
Gifts we’d buy in the sales anyway
No confirmed Black Friday offers on these yet. They’re here because they’re good Christmas gifts at their normal prices, and late November is a sensible time to order made-to-order items regardless.

How to tell a real deal
- Check the normal price. Note the price in early November. A real deal is lower than that, not lower than an inflated “was” price.
- Buy what was already on your list. A discount on something you didn’t need isn’t a saving.
- Read the dates and the small print. Codes often exclude vouchers or personalisation, and some only run for a day or a weekend.
- Allow for making time. Personalised items usually need several working days; check each shop’s Christmas cut-off on its delivery page.
